Live opening
The first three minutes decide whether new viewers stay. Say three things clearly: who you are, what’s on today, why watch now. Write the opening as a scrollable script in Open Teleprompter, then glance at it with floating prompt without leaving the live app.
Four beats (use as headings)
- Greeting — time-of-day hello; welcome new and returning viewers.
- Positioning — one line on category / persona / who you help.
- Tease — benefits or topic, without dumping everything.
- CTA — follow, badge, fan club, like (platform-dependent).
In Create scripts, split Opening / Tease / Interact so you can jump via TOC.
Sample skeleton (adapt to your niche)
Hey everyone—welcome in.
New friends, tap follow; we’ve got three benefit drops tonight.
I help xxx people with xxx.
Don’t swipe away—first drop in about three minutes.
Then:
- Rehearse on Board at constant speed;
- Go live with Floating—permissions and placement in Go live with floating prompt.
Follow mode during the opening
| Segment | Suggestion | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Greeting + positioning | Constant speed | Steady, professional first impression |
| Benefit tease | Constant or short AI lines | Keep lines crisp |
| Live Q&A | Jump to an “FAQ” section | Avoid derailing the whole follow session |
Noisy rooms → prefer constant speed. Details: Constant speed & AI Follow.
Common opening mistakes
- Revealing every benefit up front (no reason to stay);
- A long bio in the first 30 seconds;
- Forgetting the follow CTA;
- Overlay type covering face or product—preview Floating first;
- Going live before overlay permission is granted (FAQ).
After the opening
- Retention & interaction: Retention
- Pacing the whole show: Live script rhythm
- Selling structure: Live selling flow
Treat the opening as a reusable template—swap niche and offer names each stream to stay calm and consistent.
