Constant speed & AI Follow
After you open Board, Camera, or Floating, pick how the script advances—the follow mode:
| Mode | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Constant speed | Auto-scroll at your set rate | Steady pacing after rehearsal |
| AI Follow | Mic tracks speech; scroll follows you | Natural talking-head takes |
You can switch anytime. Split long scripts with headings and jump via the TOC.
Constant speed
- Choose Constant speed in teleprompter settings.
- Match speed to your speaking rate (often characters per minute—confirm limits in-app).
- Dry-run on Board; mark pauses.
- Keep the same speed for the real take so edits stay smooth.
Good for: explainers, fixed scripts, noisy rooms (no speech recognition).
Less ideal: heavy improvisation—shorten lines or jump sections instead.
Also tune size, spacing, mirror, and guide line—see Prompt settings.
AI Follow
The mic listens, matches your place in the script, and scrolls with you.
Checklist before you start:
- Grant microphone permission.
- Prefer a quiet room; fans and echo hurt accuracy.
- Speak clearly; write proper nouns the way you say them.
- Keep a stable network.
- Watch non-member daily quotas (table below).
Viewport differences:
- Board can follow longer context.
- Camera / Floating usually show a short line window so the overlay stays small—expect a “local window” feel.
If tracking drifts, pause and re-read the current line, or temporarily switch to constant speed.
Free daily limits (non-members, approximate)
When signed in without VIP (confirm in-product):
| Mode | Daily free quota (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Constant speed | ~20 minutes |
| AI Follow | ~3 minutes |
Upgrade to continue after the quota. Remaining time appears in teleprompter settings or tips. See Membership.
Practical tips
- Rehearse at constant speed; shoot a natural AI Follow take.
- Prefer constant speed in noisy live rooms.
- Use headings + TOC so one follow session does not burn the whole quota.
- For sales closings, constant speed is often steadier than recognition.
